Well known for live-event coverage of the flagship Aspen and Minneapolis events on ESPN, the World of X Games series on ABC has become a strong complement to the X Games brand, providing comprehensive year-round action sports coverage across broadcast, digital and social platforms. Events
Live Domestic Event Coverage (Aspen: Jan 25 – 28 / Minneapolis: July 19 – 22, ESPN & ABC)
X Games currently stages two domestic flagship events each year – X Games Aspen in Aspen Snowmass, Colorado, and X Games Minneapolis in Minneapolis, Minnesota. For both events, ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC will televise more than 15 hours of live coverage, which will also be available via the ESPN app. Additional exclusive event coverage is offered digitally via ESPN3, XGames.com or the X Games YouTube channel, depending on event. In addition to all of the content on ESPN’s U.S.-based media platforms, X Games Aspen will be televised globally in 190 countries and territories to more than 500 million homes.
International Event Coverage (Norway: May 18 – 20 / Sydney October 19-21, ESPN3)
While international X Games events will be carried by local broadcast partners in market, X Games fans in the United States can watch live competition coverage digitally via ESPN3. Additionally, event recap coverage will air on ABC as part of the World of X Games series following each event.

World of X Games (Weekly, ABC, XGames.com & @XGames)
Since its inception as a year-round action sports content destination in 2014, the World of X Games brand has grown from just a weekly program on ABC into a full content series across television, live event, digital and social media platforms.
- Real Series – Now in its ninth year, the Real Series has expanded to include Real Ski, Real Snow, Real Street, Real BMX, Real Moto and Real Wake. In each Real Series competition, each athlete teams with an editor to produce a never-before-seen video part in their own unique style. Each video debuts on XGames.com and culminates in a one-hour World of X Games episode on ABC.
- Road to X Games – X Games’ signature content series, highlighting how X Games athletes prepare for their shot at X Games gold. Road to X also includes coverage of live events like the X Games Qualifiers. Road to X episodes are available on XGames.com and will be featured in the X Games event broadcasts.
- Being Series – The Being Series features four in-depth profiles on the world’s top action sports athletes and icons. Each athlete profile will debut on XGames.com and @XGames social media and then several will be packaged into a one-hour World of X Games show preceding the X Games event.
- Curated Content – Original content from the top action sports athletes and brands. Past episodes include Mark McMorris’ The Process, Danny Davis’ Peace Park and Monster Energy’s Doonies.
- Skaters in Cars – A digital video series on XGames.com featuring skate journalist Chris Nieratko, the monthly series follows Nieratko’s travels through various cities to meet with top pro skaters in search of the hottest skate spots in their hometowns.
- Gear Checks – Throughout the year, X Games checks in with X Games athletes and influencers to talk about gear, tech, style, training and what athletes are up to throughout the year.
- ZOOM Photography Contest – Every month, XGames.com features 10 photos from the world’s best action sports photographers. The top photos are selected for the bi-annual ZOOM competition to be featured onsite at X Games.
