ESPN’s exclusive coverage of The Championships, Wimbledon continues with the Ladies’ Championship on Saturday, July 15, and a battle across generational lines: No. 10 seed Venus Williams vs. No. 14 Garbiñe Muguruza on ESPN and ESPN Deportes at 9 a.m. ET. The match will also be aired on ABC at 3 p.m. All the action, plus all the other televised courts, are available all day starting as early as 6 a.m. on ESPN3 and streaming live on the ESPN App. Chris Fowler will call the match with Chrissie Evert.
- Venus Williams: 37, 6’1”, in her 20th Wimbledon (first: 1997) having won five times in addition to two US Open crowns, is in her ninth Wimbledon final. She would be the oldest Major winner on the women’s side in the Open Era (current record is age 35, her sister Serena at this year’s Australian Open). She was ranked No. 1 in the world three separate times in 2002, totaling 11 weeks.
- Garbiñe Muguruza: 23, 6’0”, winner of the 2016 French Open and reached the Wimbledon final in 2015. Is 14-4 at Wimbledon and 47-14 at Majors. She was ranked as high as No. 2 (June 2016). In reaching the final, she has only lost 39 games in her six matches.

- Williams leads the head to head 3-1…this is their first meeting at a Major and first on grass…Williams won their only encounter in a final, at Wuhan in 2015… while Muguruza triumphed in their most recent clash, this year in Rome.

- 3 Roger Federer: 35, 6’1”, shares the record of seven Wimbledon titles among his record 18 Major championships (18-10 record in Major finals). Is the oldest man in a Major final since Ken Rosewall who was 39 at Wimbledon in 1974. He holds the record with a total of 302 weeks ranked No. 1.
- 7 Marin Cilic: 28, 6’6”, 2014 US Open Champion (beating Federer in the semifinal 6-3, 6-4, 6-4). Best previous Wimbledon result: QFs 2014-16. Currently ranked No. 6 in world, equaling his career best.
