ESPN Season-Opener: Orlando City SC vs. New York City FC

ESPN FC Presents 30-minute MLS Preview Show Friday at 5:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2

ESPN’s 22nd straight season of Major League Soccer will kick off Sunday, March 5, at 5 p.m. ET with Orlando City SC vs. New York City FC – the 2017 MLS season- opener for both teams and the first match at Orlando City SC’s new downtown stadium. The game features some of the league’s top international stars, such as Brazil’s Kaká and Italy’s Antonio Nocerino (Orlando), and Spain’s David Villa and Italy’s Andrea Pirlo (NYC FC).

The telecast includes pre-game, halftime and post-game programs.  Orlando City SC vs. New York City FC is the first of 31 regular-season MLS matches on ESPN and ESPN2 in 2017. The matches will air in Spanish on ESPN Deportes, and streamed on WatchESPN and ESPN Deportes+ (Spanish).

English: Adrian Healey (play-by-play), analyst Taylor Twellman and sideline reporter Julie Stewart-Binks.

On Friday, March 3, ESPN FC on TV, the daily soccer news highlights, analysis and information program, will dedicate the entire 30-minute program to preview the 2017 Major League Soccer season at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN2 and WatchESPN (re-air on ESPNEWS at 6 p.m.). Salazar, Gomez and Moreno, the studio team for Sunday’s Orlando -NYC FC telecast, will host the MLS Preseason Special, joined from Orlando by Healey and Twellman.

Reporters Jeff Carlisle and Doug McIntyre again lead ESPNFC.com’s year-round coverage of the league.
