Jimmy Kimmel and Robin Thicke Lead Revelers in Special College Football Themed ‘Auld Lang Syne’

Jimmy Kimmel, Robin Thicke, Kelly Rowland and Josh Duhamel already have their New Year’s Eve plan in place: gathering with friends and fans to celebrate New Year’s Eve by reveling and watching the College Football Playoff (CFP) Semifinals, airing on December 31 at 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. ET.

That’s the premise of ESPN’s new commercial debuting during Monday Night Football in anticipation of Tuesday’s unveiling of the CFP Selection Committee’s first official ranking of the season (7 p.m. ET on ESPN).  The star-studded spot introduces a Playoff rendition of the iconic New Year’s Eve tune “Auld Lang Syne,”with unique lyrics geared toward the CFP.

Digital banners and social extensions of the spot are also debuting today.

“Who’s In?” is created in collaboration with creative agency Wieden + Kennedy New York. Several more spots as well as digital, print and social elements will run through the crowning of the National Champion in January 2016.

ESPN has exclusive coverage of the College Football Playoff, featuring the four top teams as selected by the College Football Playoff Selection Committee.

Song lyrics:

KIMMEL:

This New Year’s Eve will be so awesome.

KIMMEL & THICKE:

The stars have all aligned.

So match your jerseys and cummerbunds,

‘Cause now it’s Playoff time.

ALL:

It’s Playoff time, my dear.

It’s Playoff time.

Footballs will spike, midnight will strike.

‘Cause now it’s Playoff time.

Yes, New Year’s Eve will be so awesome.

Watching College Football through confetti!

Missing out is not an option.

So plan accordingly.
