ESPN to Host Game of Skate Competition from Bristol, Conn. Headquarters

Original Events Expand World of X Content on ABC

ESPN will host a Game of Skate competition, featuring eight of the world’s best street skaters from its Bristol, Conn.headquarters on Friday, August 1 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. ET.  Game of Skate will be televised as part of the World of X Games series on August 10 at 5 p.m. on ABC. Fans can also watch the event streaming live on ESPN3. X Games host Brandon Graham will provide the play-by-play.

The Game of Skate is a trick matching competition based on the basketball game of H-O-R-S-E. The first athlete completes a trick and the remaining athletes must successfully complete the same trick. If they are unable to do so, they receive a letter. Once an athlete has spelled out S-K-A-T-E, they are eliminated. The goal is to be the last skater standing.

“I’m really looking forward to participating in this Game of Skate,” said three-time X Games Skateboard Street gold medalist Chris Cole. “It’s great to see X Games creating more skate events especially different types since skateboarding is so diverse. This being on the Bristol campus is just icing on the cake!
