Mike & Mike’s 2014 “Werner Ladder Bracket Challenge”

Co-hosts Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic Go Head-to-Head in Bracket Challenge; Loser Faces “Best of the Bets” Live April 9

Selection Sunday signals the arrival of ESPN Radio’s annual “Werner Ladder Bracket Challenge” and the very public “pay-off” for the losing prognosticator. This year’s Mike & Mike March Madness wager, “Best of the Bets,” will feature fan favorites from past years. As it stands, Golic leads the series over Greenberg 6 to 4.

After the “Big Dance” is completed, on Wednesday, April 9, either Greenberg or Golic will take a tour down memory lane, reliving four of the previous 10 years’ challenges. During each hour of the program (6 – 10 a.m. ET) on ESPN Radio and simulcast on ESPN2, the bet’s loser will endure a unique and embarrassing experience. During the first hour, either Greeny or Golic will have their eyebrows waxed. At 7 a.m., the loser will have to sing karaoke. During the 8 a.m. hour, one of the guys will be challenged to a competitive eating contest, and in the final hour, the bet will be paid off with the milking of a cow.

“This contest has been a special part of our show for what feels like forever,” said Greenberg. “I look forward to watching this year from the bench.”

Golic added, “Listeners are going to enjoy my four-peat beating Greeny and embarrassing him once again.”

Participation in the 2014 Werner Ladder Bracket Challenge is open to anyone and brackets will be available beginning Monday, March 17. Listeners can compete against Greenberg and Golic by joining their league and creating a bracket here. One listener will be randomly selected to receive the grand prize, a VIP visit to ESPN Radio Studios in Bristol including round-trip airfare for two to New York with four days/three nights hotel and $200 spending money.
