Longhorn Network Now Available to Active Military on Digital Platforms

The network dedicated to University of Texas sports launches today on computers, smartphones and tablets at no cost for military personnel
Longhorn Network to air special programming and highlights tied to Veterans Week initiative on November 11-16

Beginning today, a few days prior to the Kansas at Texas football game airing on Longhorn Network November 2, U.S.-based military personnel connected to on-base military broadband and Wi-Fi networks nationwide can now access the Longhorn Network via computers, smartphones and tablets at no cost. Once connected to a military (.mil) domain, access will be available online at www.longhornnetwork.com and via the Longhorn Network app. The free app can be downloaded at the Apple App Store, and will be compatible with iPhones, iPads and iPod touch devices.

Additionally, during the week of November 11, LHN will air special programming to highlight military-related stories as part of the network’s Veterans Week initiative honoring members of the Armed Forces.

Veterans Week will conclude on Saturday, Nov. 16 in conjunction with the Oklahoma State at Texas football game.  During Texas GameDay, LHN will air a live satellite look-in of Fort Hood soldiers stationed in Afghanistan. Additionally, LHN will host select military personnel from Fort Hood to attend as VIP guests on the LHN set of Texas GameDay at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium.

Longhorn Network is available on AT&T U-verse TV, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS TV, Grande Communications, Cox Communications, Cablevision, Charter Communications, Google Fiber (in Kansas City), Consolidated Communications, En-Touch Systems, E-Tex Communications, Bay City Cablevision, Mid-Coast Cablevision and Texas Mid-Gulf Cablevision. Longhorn Network is now available online to Verizon FiOS, Grande Communications, Cox Communications, Charter Communications and AT&T U-verse TV subscribers at LonghornNetwork.com. It is also available on tablets and on smartphones to fans with an affiliated video subscription, and online and through the app at no cost to U.S.-based military personnel via computers, smartphones and tablets connected to on-base military broadband and Wi-Fi networks.
