Men’s Basketball: Championship Week Action Continues with BIG EAST, ACC, SEC, Big 12, Pac-12 and Big Ten Tipping Off
ESPN’s 2013 Championship Week Presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods – 136 men’s college basketball conference tournament games across ESPN, ABC, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3 – began Wednesday, March 6, and will conclude Sunday, March 17. Beginning Tuesday, March 12, the networks will combine to provide action of multiple men’s games from several top conferences, including all 13 of the BIG EAST games; all 11 of the SEC and ACC; all nine from the Big 12 and four from the Big Ten.

ESPN’s resident bracketologist Joe Lunardi and college basketball analyst and former head coach Seth Greenberg will be available for a media conference call Wednesday, March 13, at 1 p.m. to discuss teams to watch and NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship odds. Women’s Basketball: 18 Conference Championships in Championship Week
ESPN’s 2013 Championship Week Presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods continues with several conference tournament title games, including exclusive games and the championships from 18 Division I conferences.
Championship Week Highlights
- The BIG EAST Championship Presented by American Eagle will air on ESPN on Tuesday, March 12, at 7 p.m.
- Additional championship games on ESPNU include: Atlantic-10, Horizon League, MAAC, Northeast Conference, Summit League, Sun Belt Conference, Western Athletic Conference and West Coast Conference.
The Championship Week schedule includes a total of 135 men’s and women’s basketball games across ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and exclusively on ESPN3 from 27 conferences, plus a total of 222 national and syndicated games on ESPN3.

Basketball Recruiting: Six of the Top 10 Boys Teams to Participate in 2013 National High School Invitational
Eight boys’ and four girls’ high school basketball teams are set for the fifth annual National High School Invitational (NHSI). For the first time, every NHSI boys’ team is ranked in the ESPN 25 Power Rankings, and six are in the top 10, including No. 1 Findlay Prep (NV) and No. 2 Montverde Academy (FL). ESPN will televise the event held Thursday, April 4, through Saturday, April 6, at Georgetown Preparatory School’s Hanley Center for Athletic Excellence in Bethesda, Md.

“The Schwab” Week 4: Big Ten Contestants
“The Schwab” game show segment on UNITE will returns for a fourth consecutive Wednesday with three contestants from the Big Ten: Jessica McClintock (Purdue), Chad Shepard (Michigan) and Daniel Smith (Penn State).
Three participants from a different NCAA conference is tested each week by ESPN’s first statistician, Howie Schwab, and UNITE host Reese Waters with questions from four categories – college sports, professional sports, pop-culture and social media. The winning player representing each conference advances through a UNITE tournament bracket of quarterfinals, semifinals and a final. Previous conference winners include Ryan Smith (Ole Miss; 14 points), Taylor Smith (Maryland; 11 points) and Evan Berkowitz (Texas; 9 points).
College Lacrosse: Top 10 Matchups Highlight ESPN’s Coverage
ESPN’s college lacrosse schedule for the next week includes a pair of top 10 matchups Saturday, including No. 4 Notre Dame at No. 3 Denver at 6:30 p.m. as part of the Whitman’s Sampler Mile High Lacrosse Classic in Denver. The game will be shown live on ESPN3 and will run on tape delay Monday, March 18, at 12:30 a.m. on ESPNU and WatchESPN. Also Saturday, No. 5 John’s Hopkins will face No. 7 Syracuse at 1 p.m. on ESPNU and WatchESPN. Also:
- ESPNU’s Wednesday Men’s Lacrosse Game of the Week pits No. 17 Duke at No. 8 North Carolina on March 13, at 7:30 p.m. The game can also be seen on WatchESPN.
- No. 8 Georgetown women will play at No. 10 Johns Hopkins on Wednesday, March 13 at 5:30 p.m. on ESPNU and WatchESPN.
- The Metropolitan Lacrosse Classic in Flushing, N.Y., on Sunday, March 17 features Holy Cross vs. Navy at noon on ESPN3 and Michigan against Colgate at 3 p.m. on ESPNU and WatchESPN.
