On Thursday, Feb. 14, ESPN has Valentine’s Day covered for lovers and sports lovers alike — Couples on opposite sides of the cheering section may have their relationships tested during ESPN’s Rivalry Week college basketball games; the Reds of Liverpool play in UEFA Europa League and Jersey Shore’s Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola makes an appearance on UNITE. Whether staying in or having a night out on the town, the slate of programming is available to fans on TV, online and mobile devices via the WatchESPN app.
Highlights include:
- UNITE, ESPNU’s late-night entertainment show, will feature Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola from MTV’s Jersey Shore for the show’s inaugural Valentine’s Day special late Wednesday at midnight (9 p.m. PT, Thursday 12 a.m. ET). Hosts Danny Kanell, Reese Waters and Marianela Pereyra will also look at the Top 25 Hoops Heartbreaks, failed athlete relationships of the past year and speak to additional guests Da’Shawn Butler and gambling expert Todd Furhman.
- Rivalry Week Presented by Wendy’s – top rivalries in men’s college basketball from February 11-18: Thursday’s games include three matchups with teams in the Top 25: No. 20 Wisconsin at Minnesota; St. John’s at No. 12 Louisville; and No. 5 Gonzaga at St. Mary’s (Calif.).
- Clemson travels to No. 7 Maryland in an ACC women’s college basketball showdown at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
- Love-Love on the Court: ATP Abn Amro World Tennis Tournament and WTA Qatar Total Open Rounds of 16 on ESPN3.
