Final GEICO ESPN High School Showcase Game of the Season Friday
ESPNU will air a Georgia rivalry on Friday at 8 p.m. for Week 10 of the GEICO ESPN High School Showcase. The final matchup of the 16-game series, which featured the nation’s top recruits and biggest in-state rivalry games, will pit Camden County against Lowndes. Camden County is led by Georgia quarterback commit Brice Ramsey, No. 93 on the ESPN 150, and Lowndes, a historically strong program within the state.

Freshman Orientation on Recruiting Nation
ESPN Recruiting Nation will introduce viewers to the top freshmen for the upcoming men’s college basketball season in a 30-minute Freshman Orientation special. The show will air Friday at 5 p.m.* on ESPNU and is hosted by Matt Schick and recruiting analysts Paul Biancardi and Dave Telep.

ABC Broadcast of Notre Dame-Oklahoma Most-Viewed College Football Game of Season
ABC’s Saturday Night Football broadcast of Notre Dame defeating Oklahoma 30-13 on October 27 garnered the largest audience for a college football game this season across any network. The non-conference showdown –a 5.2 average rating, 8,627,000 viewers and 5,950,000 households – is also the highest-rated and most-viewed regular-season telecast involving Notre Dame among all of broadcast and cable since 2006 (Notre Dame at USC averaged a 9.0 rating, 14,647,000 viewers and 10,048,000 households on ABC).

In addition, the contest was the most-viewed program across all shows and networks on Saturday night among adults 18-49 (2.9 rating), men 18-49 (4.0 rating) and men 18-34 (3.4 rating).

Oklahoma City was the highest rated metered market for the game with a 36.0 rating followed by Tulsa (28.9 rating), Indianapolis (13.3 rating), Austin (11.6 rating) and Columbus (9.4 rating).

ABC also televised the second highest-rated and most-viewed college football game of the 2012 season with the Saturday Night Football Presented by Windows 8 Michigan vs. Alabama game from Cowboys Stadium on September 1 (4.8 rating, 7,918,000 viewers and 5,452,000 households).


Three Telecasts between Ranked Teams Including Undefeated No. 2 Kansas State against No. 24 Oklahoma State in Prime Time
ESPN’s college football schedule this week includes three telecasts between teams in the BCS Standings on Saturday, Nov. 3, highlighted by undefeated No. 2 Kansas State hosting No. 24 Oklahoma State on ABC at 8 p.m. ET. Last season, Oklahoma State defeated Kansas State 52-45 and won the Big 12 with an 8-1 record while Kansas State finished in second place at 7-2.

Also on Saturday, ESPN will televise No. 16 Texas A&M at one-loss No. 15 Mississippi State in an SEC showdown at noon and ABC will provide coverage of No. 23 Texas at No. 18 Texas Tech in a Big 12 matchup of two-loss teams at 3:30 p.m. In addition, ESPN Radio will broadcast unbeaten No. 4 Oregon at No. 17 USC at 7 p.m.

Overall, ESPN platforms will offer coverage of four of the remaining six undefeated teams: No. 2 Kansas State, No. 4 Oregon, No. 10 Louisville and Ohio State.

NCAA Volleyball and Soccer: 24 Men’s & Women’s Matches across ESPN Platforms
NCAA volleyball and soccer will continue this week with 24 matches from the ACC, SEC, Big 12, Big Ten and other conferences across ESPN platforms. ESPN3 will have 14 matches from both sports exclusively on the live multi-screen sports network. Additionally, ESPNU will televise the ACC and SEC women’s soccer championship. The matches will also be accessible via WatchESPN online and through the app to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.

A part of the Internal Communications team at ESPN, I began with the network in 2010 as part of the College Sports PR team. Always an avid sports fan and not an athlete – I grew up a huge fan of the Hartford Whalers, while also watching my brother compete at different levels. I became the manager of several high school sports teams and continued that hobby into college. While at Quinnipiac, I worked in the Sports Information Department, which led me to a summer internship at the New Haven Ravens, a AA baseball team, and an eventual job with the Athletic Communications Department at the University of Connecticut. After my five-year stint at Connecticut, I spent six years as Director of Communications at the BIG EAST Conference in Providence, R.I. before joining ESPN.
