BCS Countdown Corner

After a weekend of upsets and thrilling finishes, the BCS Standings stood to shift to reflect the new one-loss teams of Clemson and Kansas State, but the top five remained very much the same. Most of the movement took place in positions 6-10 and beyond. On Sunday’s BCS Countdown (8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN), analyst Brad Edwards discussed the top five teams (LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma State, Stanford & Boise State) with host Rece Davis.

Later in the show, Edwards revealed his belief that LSU will lose to Alabama on Nov. 5, resulting in his current pick for the Allstate BCS National Championship Game: Alabama vs. Oklahoma State.

ESPN and ABC will combine to televise two undefeated teams, including one against a ranked opponent, and a showdown of top 10 squads on Saturday, Nov. 5

Undefeated No. 3 Oklahoma State hosts No. 14 Kansas State (8 p.m., ABC, ESPN2 & ESPN3)

College GameDay Notebook

ESPN’s Emmy Award-winning College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will originate from Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Saturday, Nov. 5, from the site of the highly anticipated SEC Western Division matchup of No. 1 LSU at No. 2 Alabama. The GameDay set will be located on the Walk of Champions at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The weekly show airs 9-10 a.m. on ESPNU and 10 a.m.-noon on ESPN.

Alabama will host College GameDay for the 10th time and appear in a featured game for the 20th time. LSU is appearing for the third time this season, and 11th overall.

College football coaches and their teams aren’t the only ones who watch film to improve their fundamentals. With an extra big show this weekend, the College GameDay crew, featured in a spot from 2008, are studying film to improve their GameDay performances, led by their head coach – senior coordinating producer Michael Fountain.

On ESPNU

On Wednesday, ESPNU gets you inside the BYU football program and features another Manhattan that never sleeps – when ESPNU Road Trip trucks through Manhattan, Kan.

Wednesday (7 p.m.) – ESPNU All-Access: BYU tours LaVell Edwards Stadium and its football facilities with seniors Terence Brown and JJ Di Luigi. Viewers learn the meaning of “keeping it in the family” with brothers Matt and Houston Reynolds – both offensive lineman under their father Lance Reynolds, who is an assistant head coach with the Cougars. At practice, L. Reynolds is wired, along with head coach Bronco Mendenhall and offensive coordinator Brandon Doman.

Wednesday (7:30 p.m.) – ESPNU Road Trip visits the “Little Apple” hitching a ride during the homecoming parade and experiencing a high-flying adventure while in town for last weekend’s Big 12 clash between then-No. 9 Oklahoma at then-No. 8 Kansas State.
