One State, One Spirit Classic on ESPNU

The nation was stunned by the images of Joplin, Mo., after much of it was decimated by an EF-5 tornado May 22.  Soon after, the University of Missouri and Joplin’s Missouri Southern State University agreed to play an exhibition basketball game to raise spirits and funds for victims of the devastation.  On Sunday, Oct. 30, at 6:30 p.m. ET, ESPNU will televise the One State, One Spirit Classic where the Division II Missouri Southern Lions, returning champions of the MIAA conference, will host the Missouri Tigers of the Big 12.

The telecast marks Missouri Southern’s first time hosting a basketball game on an ESPN network and will serve as the exhibition opener for both schools.  John Anderson, a graduate of the University of Missouri, and analyst Fran Fraschilla will provide commentary along with reporting from Dana O’Neil.
