• Now or Never and Ahora o Nunca to debut January 28, 2019 on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes
• Steve Covino, Rich Davis, Janelle Marie Rodriguez, Mauricio Pedroza and Herculez Gomez, named co-hosts

 ESPN announced today that it will add two late-night shows to its programming line-up. Set to debut January 28, 2019, the two shows — Now or Never (ESPN2) and Ahora o Nunca (ESPN Deportes) — will be dedicated to covering the intersection of sports and pop culture for young, multicultural sports fans.

Now or Never and Ahora o Nunca will offer a new take on sports, with a laid-back vibe for the late-night fan. Fans can expect the co-hosts to have fun with sports headlines and reactions, chat about the latest news on movies, music, E Sports, celebrity culture and much more. The shows will feature social content that incorporates viewer interaction and engagement. Airing Monday through Friday, the two 30-minute shows will be produced from ESPN studios at L.A. Live in Los Angeles and air on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes at 2 a.m. ET / 11 p.m. PT. 

“We are excited to add these new shows to our programming line-up to serve a young, multicultural audience in English and Spanish,” said Freddy Rolón, vice president and general manager, ESPN Deportes. “This unique format will bring together a diverse group of voices, whose experience will drive conversations beyond sports and tackle pop culture news, on-and-off the screen.”

Now or Never will be co-hosted by Steve Covino, Rich Davis, and Janelle Marie Rodriguez. Covino and Davis, who currently co-host Covino & Rich on ESPN Radio and SiriusXM’s Faction Talk channel, come to ESPN with a plethora of sports and pop culture experience. The pair have worked as television hosts for NBC Sports’ NY affiliate SNY, discussing daily pop culture and sports stories. They have hosted numerous red carpet events including the MTV Video Music Awards and Movie Awards, the GRAMMY Awards and private parties for ESPN and Rolling Stone, as well as numerous Super Bowl weeks, and the MLB All-Star Week, on behalf of SiriusXM.

Rodriguez is a South Florida native who began her career at a young age, making regular television appearances and her acting debut on TNT’s series The Last Ship. Throughout her career, she has interviewed many high-profile celebrities, including Steven Spielberg, Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana. She was nominated as Best Actress in a Webseries at The Official Latino Short Film Festival for her work on the digital network Flama, and was recognized as the first Latina to host MONSTER JAM in the U.S. Rodriguez will serve as the bilingual co-host and appear on both shows.

Ahora o Nunca will be co-hosted by ESPN Deportes’ Mauricio Pedroza, Herculez Gomez and Rodriguez. Pedroza was discovered in Mexico City in 2006 when he participated on ESPN Deportes’ Dream Job, a nationwide casting event centered around the World Cup. Since then, Pedroza has become one of the most recognized young faces on the Spanish-language network. He has served as co-host of Nación ESPN and Cronómetro, among others. Pedroza started his career at ESPN anchoring SportsCenter.

Herculez Gomez joined ESPN as a soccer analyst in January 2017, after announcing his retirement from professional soccer. The 17-year veteran of Mexico’s Liga MX and Major League Soccer – including the 2016 season with the Seattle Sounders, MLS Cup champions– serves as a studio analyst on ESPN’s English and Spanish-language networks. Gomez appears primarily as a pundit on ESPN FC, ESPN’s daily soccer news, highlights and information program, and as a studio analyst for the network’s coverage of Major League Soccer, U.S. Men’s National Team, and other international soccer competitions. On ESPN Deportes, he serves as an analyst on signature soccer studio programs including Fuera de Juego and Fútbol Picante.

ESPN lanzará dos programas multiculturales en enero del 2019

• Now or Never y Ahora o Nunca debutarán el 28 de enero de 2019 en ESPN2 y ESPN Deportes

ESPN anunció hoy que agregará dos nuevos shows de late-night a su programación. Los programas Now or Never (ESPN2) y Ahora o Nunca (ESPN Deportes) debutarán el 28 de enero de 2019 y cubrirán la intersección del deporte y la cultura pop para servir a los jóvenes multiculturales fans del deporte.  

Now or Never y Ahora o Nunca ofrecerá un nuevo ángulo de los deportes, con un vibra relajada para los fans del late-night. La audiencia podrá ver a los co-conductores disfrutar de los titulares deportivos, comentar sobre lo último en películas, música, eSport, el mundo de las celebridades y mucho más. Los shows tendrán contenido de medios sociales para interactuar con la audiencia. Now or Never y Ahora o Nunca, con 30 minutos de duración, saldrán al aire de lunes a viernes, en ESPN2 y ESPN Deportes a las 2:00 a.m. ET / 11 p.m. PT.

Now or Never estará conducido por Steve Covino, Rich Davis y Janelle Marie Rodriguez. Covino y Davis, quienes actualmente co-conducen Covino & Rich en ESPN Radio y el canal SiriusXM Faction Talk, llegan a ESPN con amplia experiencia en deportes y cultura pop. El dúo ha trabajado en televisión como conductores de la afiliada neoyorquina NBC Sports SNY, analizando diariamente noticias de la cultura pop y el deporte. Han sido presentadores de numerosos eventos de alfombra roja incluyendo los MTV Video Music Awards y los MTV Movie Awards, los Premios GRAMMY y fiestas exclusivas para ESPN y la revista Rolling Stone, además de cubrir varias semanas del Super Bowl y MLB All-Star Week para SiriusXM.

Rodriguez es nativa del sur de la Florida y comenzó su carrera a temprana edad con apariciones en televisión y debutó como actriz en la serie The Last Ship de TNT. Ahora o Nunca estará conducido por Mauricio Pedroza, Hérculez Gómez y Rodriguez de ESPN Deportes. Pedroza fue descubierto en 2006 en Ciudad de México, cuando participó y ganó la competencia llamada Dream Job de ESPN Deportes. Desde entonces, Pedroza se ha convertido en uno de los rostros jóvenes más reconocidos de la cadena en español. Entre otros programas, ha trabajado como copresentador de Nación ESPN y Cronómetro. Pedroza inició su carrera en ESPN como presentador de SportsCenter.

Hérculez Gómez se unió a ESPN como analista de fútbol en enero de 2017, tras anunciar su retiro del fútbol profesional. Con 17 años como jugador en equipos de la Liga MX de México y de la Major League Soccer, incluida la temporada 2016 con los Sounders, campeones de la Copa MLS, Gómez trabaja como analista de estudio de las cadenas de ESPN en inglés y español. También aparece principalmente como experto en ESPN FC, el programa diario de noticias, titulares e información sobre fútbol de ESPN, así como analista de estudio de la Major League Soccer, la Selección Nacional Masculina de Estados Unidos y otras competencias de fútbol internacional que cubre la cadena. En ESPN Deportes, trabaja como analista en los programas icónicos Fuera de Juego y Fútbol Picante.
