ESPN Deportes will present unprecedented live coverage of the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games to be held in Barranquilla, Colombia, July 19 – August 3, 2018. Held every four years, the Central American and Caribbean Games are considered the oldest continuing regional multi-sport competition in the world after the Olympics. In all, ESPN Deportes will present more than 600 hours of coverage across ESPN Deportes and the ESPN App. Coverage of the competition begins Thursday, July 19 at 11 a.m. ET with diving and will continue through the Opening Ceremony at 9 p.m. ET streaming live on the ESPN App.

XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games, Barranquilla 2018 on ESPN Deportes:

The XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games, a multi-sport international event featuring 38 participating countries from Latin America and the Caribbean, will showcase close to 5,000 athletes in 470 competitions in 47 disciplines, the second highest figure in the event’s history. The tournament marks the start of the Olympic cycle for countries from the region.  Disciplines include baseball, basketball, boxing, cycling, equestrian, soccer, volleyball, weightlifting and wrestling, among other sports. In addition, for the first time the Central American and Caribbean Games will have gender equity with 49.09% of the athletes being female.

ESPN Deportes presentará una cobertura en vivo sin precedentes de los XXIII Juegos Deportivos Centroamericanos y del Caribe que se llevará a cabo en Barranquilla, Colombia, del 19 de julio al 3 de agosto de 2018. Celebrados cada cuatro años, los Juegos Deportivos Centroamericanos y del Caribe se consideran la competencia multideportiva regional e ininterrumpida más antigua del mundo, después de los Juegos Olímpicos. En total, ESPN Deportes presentará más de 600 horas de cobertura por los canales ESPN Deportes y ESPN3, a partir de mañana jueves, 19 de julio. Cobertura comienza a las 11 a.m. ET con la presentación de clavados y se destacará, en horario estelar, la Ceremonia de Apertura a las 9 p.m. (hora del Este) streaming en vivo por el ESPN App.

Los XXIII Juegos Deportivos Centroamericanos y del Caribe, Barranquilla 2018:
