Six Conference Championship Football Games Among the College Football Playoff Impact Games Airing on ESPN to Conclude College Football’s Regular Season
- ACC, American Athletic, Conference USA, MAC, Mountain West and SWAC Championship Games will Air on ESPN’s Networks
ESPN televises numerous College Football Playoff impact games as the college football regular season heads into its final three weeks. In addition to the previously announced week 12 schedule and week 13’s rivalry slate highlighted by No. 3 Michigan at No. 2 Ohio State on ABC (noon), ESPN’s industry-leading college football regular season schedule concludes in week 14 with six conference championship games on Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3, leading into the College Football Playoff: Top 25 Selection Show Presented by AT&T on Sunday, Dec. 4 (noon ET).
ESPN’s Conference Championship Schedule
Saturday, Dec. 3
The Dr Pepper ACC Championship game headlines ABC’s Saturday Night Football (8 p.m.) from Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla., featuring either Clemson or Louisville from the Atlantic division playing the Coastal division winner. The Cardinals and Tigers, ranked No. 5 and No. 4 respectively in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, will likely be vying for a spot in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
The American Athletic Championship game, pitting the East and West division winners against each other from a campus site to be determined, also airs on ABC (noon). Navy currently leads the West division with Houston currently in second place.
The Mountain West Football Championship is scheduled for prime-time on ESPN (7:45 p.m.). Currently Boise State, Wyoming and New Mexico sit atop the MW Mountain division at 5-1 in conference play and the Broncos are ranked No. 20 in the latest CFP rankings, the highest ranked Group of 5 team. San Diego State has already qualified for the MW Championship game by winning the West division. The game will be played at a campus site that has yet to be determined.
The Dynacraft Conference USA Championship game airs on ESPN (noon) and the SWAC Championship on ESPNU (4 p.m.). Both games feature the winner of their respective East and West divisions, with the Conference USA Championship from a site still to be determined and the SWAC Championship will be played in NRG Stadium in Houston.
Friday, Dec. 2
Leading into the final regular season college football Saturday, the Marathon MAC Football Championship is on ESPN2 (7 p.m.) from Ford Field in Detroit, matching up the East and West division winners. Currently, Western Michigan, who remains undefeated this season, leads the West and is ranked No. 21 in the latest CFP rankings, trailing only Boise State for highest ranked Group of 5 team. This weekend, Western Michigan looks to remain undefeated when they host Buffalo (Saturday, Nov. 19, at 3:30 p.m. on ESPNU) and College GameDay Presented by the Home Depot will be in Kalamazoo for the game (9 a.m. on ESPN).
College Football Week 14
ESPN’s networks will have additional games during college football’s final regular season week with a complete schedule to be announced in the coming days.
