ESPN’s Marquee MLS Matchups in August Begins Sunday with Mexican International Giovani dos Santos

Mexican National Team star Giovani dos Santos, one of the best attacking midfielders from the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), will make his Major League Soccer debut on ESPN Sunday, Aug. 9, at 4 p.m. ET, during the Los Angeles Galaxy vs. Seattle Sounders match, live from the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.

Galaxy vs. Sounders is the first of four straight MLS Soccer Sunday matches on ESPN networks featuring many of the league’s marquee teams and topline on-the-field talent. The August slate on ESPN represents the most-impressive stretch of four league matchups in 20 years of MLS on ESPN. The month will culminate with Major League Soccer’s most-intense rivalry – Sounders vs. Timbers on “Heineken Rivalry Weekend” – on Sunday, Aug. 30, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Two days before his MLS debut, Giovani dos Santos will be a guest on ESPN Deportes’ award-winning Nación ESPN, Friday at 9 p.m. The popular Mexican National Team star will join hosts David Faitelson, Mauricio Pedroza and Rosy Martell to discuss his decision to join the Los Angeles Galaxy, his El Tri career, and more.
