SEC Network Takeover (#SECNTakeover) continues Saturday, July 11, with Texas A&M taking over the national television network for 24 hours. With the help of SEC Network reporter and former student Kayce Smith, the Aggies have selected nine marquee television events from the vault* to relive with fans.  In addition, Texas A&M will air an original two-hour show titled “Texas A&M Today,” which includes an insider’s update on the Kyle Field redevelopment and the first extended broadcast interview with new university President Michael K. Young. Head football Coach Kevin Sumlin will also discuss his team’s outlook for the upcoming 2015 season.

Texas A&M #SECNTakeover Schedule Includes:

• 2006 Texas vs. Texas A&M (Men’s Basketball): The Aggies had won five straight games but needed a win at home against No. 6-ranked Texas to bolster their NCAA Tournament resume. In a brutal defensive battle, Acie Law IV nailed a game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer giving Texas A&M a 46-43 victory. Law’s jumper became known as “The Shot,” and the Aggies later advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 19 years.
• 1986 Cotton Bowl Auburn vs. Texas A&M (Football): In the 50^th anniversary of the Cotton Bowl Classic, the Aggies faced the Auburn Tigers and their Heisman Trophy-winning running back Bo Jackson. With Kevin Murray throwing for a Cotton Bowl-record 292 yards and Domingo Bryant’s two interceptions, the Aggies took a 21-16 lead into the final quarter. With the game on the line, the No. 16 Tigers put the game in Jackson’s hands, but the Aggie defense stopped the Heisman winner on four consecutive plays for an epic goal-line stand. Texas A&M won the game 36-16 and finished sixth in the final polls.
• 2013 Florida vs. Texas A&M (Soccer): Texas A&M’s Liz Keester unleashed a brilliant shot from 25 yards out to beat Florida’s goalkeeper with 6:58 remaining in the second half to propel the Aggies to a 2-1 win in the SEC Tournament championship game. It marked Texas A&M’s first SEC Tournament title and sixth conference tournament crown overall.
• 2014 SEC Men’s & Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship: The Texas A&M men’s outdoor track and field team won its first SEC Championship with a dominating performance, scoring 155 points to upend three-time defending champion Arkansas by 38 ½ points. The Aggies became the first program in the SEC, dating back to 1933, to sweep all seven sprints (100, 200, 400), hurdle (110, 400) and relay events (4×100, 4×400).
• 2013 Texas A&M vs. Kentucky (Men’s Basketball): Elston Turner scored 40 points, becoming only the third opposing player to ever score 40 points at famed Rupp Arena as Texas A&M stuns Kentucky 83-71. Turner became only the fifth Aggie to reach the 40-point plateau and the first in 28 years since Don Marbury last accomplished the feat against Baylor in 1985.

• 2012 Texas A&M vs. Alabama (Football): In its first season in the SEC, Texas A&M shocked the college football world with a 29-24 upset of then top-ranked Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Lead by quarterback Johnny Manziel, who would go on to become the first freshman winner of the Heisman Trophy, the Aggies jumped to a 20-0 first quarter lead. Manziel gained over 300 total yards and had his signature Heisman moment when he bobbled the football after bumping into a teammate but recovered to throw a 10-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Ryan Swope. The game was clinched when cornerback Deshazor Everett completed a goal-line stand with an interception on a fourth-down pass.
• 2013 Kentucky vs. Texas A&M (Women’s Basketball): Texas A&M defeated Kentucky 75-67 in Duluth, Ga., to win its SEC Tournament Championship. The Aggies defeated three-straight ranked teams en route to the title. All-American and future WNBA first-round pick Kelsey Bone led the Aggies with 18 points and 15 rebounds, the bulk of which came in the second half. Texas A&M started a current or future All-SEC selection at every position, including future All-American Courtney Walker, who scored 14 points.
• Texas A&M Today: This two-hour special created by 12^th Man Productions and hosted by Will Johnson includes an update on Kyle Field with Chancellor John Sharp and a tour of the construction site, as well as interviews with Texas A&M President Michael K. Young, Athletics Director Eric Hyman and coaches Kevin Sumlin, Billy Kennedy and Gary Blair.
• 2014 Texas A&M vs. West Virginia (Football): Texas A&M won a bowl game in four-straight seasons for the first time in school history, downing Big 12 member West Virginia 45-37 in the Autozone Liberty Bowl. Behind the arm of true freshman quarterback Kyle Allen, the Aggies erased an early 10-point deficit. Allen, making his fifth career start, was 22 of 35 for 294 and four touchdowns passing and ran for another, earning bowl MVP honors. It was the second-highest scoring game in the Liberty Bowl’s 56-game history.
• Texas A&M Football: Head Coach Kevin Sumlin previews the upcoming 2015 season, while Offensive Coordinator Jake Spavital and new Defensive Coordinator John Chavis take viewers inside the film room.
• 2015 SEC Men’s Tennis Championship: Texas A&M successfully defended its home court and the SEC Tournament title after enduring a two-hour rain delay. The sixth-ranked Aggies downed No. 5 Georgia 4-2 behind SEC Tournament MVP Jeremy Efferding at No. 1 singles, who won three straight points to clinch the victory.
