Men’s College Basketball: Diamond Head Classic Closes Holiday Hoops Week

Holiday Hoops Presented by Kay Jewelers continues across ESPN networks on Monday, Dec. 22, and Tuesday, Dec. 23, with several ranked teams in action as well as the start of the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic.

The Diamond Head Classic tips off on Monday with quarterfinal action:

  • An ESPNU doubleheader beginning at 2:30 p.m. with Ohio vs. George Washington, followed by DePaul vs. Colorado.
  • The ESPNU nightcap starts with Loyola Marymount vs. No. 11 Wichita State at 11 p.m. and Nebraska vs. Hawaii at 1 a.m.
  • The semifinals will air on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. on ESPNU and at 9 p.m. on ESPN2.

Additional Schedule Highlights:

  • 10 Kansas plays Temple at the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia on Monday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2, followed by No. 5 Wisconsin at California at 9 p.m.
  • 9 Texas hosts Stanford on Tuesday on ESPN2 and No. 4 Louisville plays at home against Cal State Northridge on ESPNU. Both at 7 p.m.

Rachel Margolis Siegal

A part of the Internal Communications team at ESPN, I began with the network in 2010 as part of the College Sports PR team. Always an avid sports fan and not an athlete – I grew up a huge fan of the Hartford Whalers, while also watching my brother compete at different levels. I became the manager of several high school sports teams and continued that hobby into college. While at Quinnipiac, I worked in the Sports Information Department, which led me to a summer internship at the New Haven Ravens, a AA baseball team, and an eventual job with the Athletic Communications Department at the University of Connecticut. After my five-year stint at Connecticut, I spent six years as Director of Communications at the BIG EAST Conference in Providence, R.I. before joining ESPN.
