ESPN’s Customer Marketing and Sales Group Announces Promotions and New Hires

Rob Temple Promoted to Senior Vice President

ESPN has announced promotions and new hires within the Customer Marketing and Sales group, led by Ed Erhardt, president of Global Customer Marketing and Sales.

Said Eric Johnson, executive vice president of global multimedia sales, “Our advertising sales business continues to expand, with greater complexity in depth and breadth of offerings. To ensure present-term success and prioritize future growth potential, it is critical that we consistently adapt our teams’ responsibilities to best drive our core multimedia business and provide coverage for our many developing business units.“

Promotions and hires in the New York office include:

  • Robert Temple has been promoted to senior vice president of ESPN’s sports management group.  During Temple’s 12-year tenure, he has maximized the revenue potential of ESPN’s sports portfolio. Additionally, he has played a leading role in launching the new College Football Playoff, developing a sponsorship architecture for the property.
  • Danielle Carney has been appointed vice president of multimedia sales. A nine-year veteran of the company, Carney will oversee sales for espnW and the Boston marketplace. She will also manage ESPN’s relationship with media agencies.
  • Deidra Maddock was promoted to vice president of sports management, overseeing ESPN’s portfolio of league sports and digital marketing. A 16-year media industry veteran, Maddock has been with ESPN for nearly six years. She has previously managed sales for ESPN’s tennis and golf properties, NFL, FIFA World Cup and the NBA.
  • Bill Condon has been promoted to senior director of multimedia sales, overseeing sales strategy for ESPN properties across mobile, social, video, and digital mediums.
  • Justin Hergianto joins ESPN as senior director of digital marketing sales overseeing digital, mobile and social properties. Hergianto was previously with MTV and Sports Illustrated.

Promotions and hires in the ESPN’s Atlanta sales office include:

  • Brant Allen has been promoted to director of multimedia sales for the south east region, overseeing ESPN’s television, digital and print assets in the area.
  • Scott Williams has been hired as senior director of multimedia sales, focused on regional sales for the new SEC ESPN Network.
