Men’s College Lacrosse: ACC Teams Fill Weekend on ESPNU; Half of Top Ten in Action

Five ACC men’s lacrosse teams will be in action Saturday and Sunday, March 15 and 16, on ESPNU. Beginning at noon on Saturday, when ACC newcomer No. 10 Syracuse faces third-ranked John Hopkins. Eamon McAnaney, Quint Kessenich and Paul Carcaterra will have the call. After a two-game slide, the Orange are back on track with a 14-8 win over then-No. 19 St. John’s on March 8, while the Blue Jays are undefeated with a 5-0 mark.
The first of two all-ACC matchups will see No. 5 North Carolina at No. 4 Duke on Saturday at 2 p.m. with Mike Corey and Matt Ward on the call. With just one loss to new league opponent Notre Dame, UNC is averaging 16.2 goals through six games. Duke lost back-to-back games vs. Maryland and Loyola but rebounded with a 20-9 win over Marquette on March 11.
Sunday’s ACC tilt has No. 6 Virginia at No. 12 Notre Dame at 5 p.m. with McAnaney, Kessenich and Carcaterra calling the game. After opening the season with a six-game winning streak, Virginia lost 12-9 to then-No. 15 Cornell on March 8. With a 2-2 record, Notre Dame looks to get back on track.
