Men’s College Basketball Round-Up: GameDay & Regular Season Wind Down

UNC at Duke: Final Stop of Season for ESPN’s College GameDay
ESPN’s College GameDay Covered by State Farm’s will conclude its 10th season with a return to Durham, N.C., and the campus of Duke University on Saturday, March 8. The first hour will begin at 10 a.m. on ESPNU and continue at 11 a.m. on ESPN with a one-hour evening edition leading into the ACC Saturday Primetime Presented by DIRECTV game of No. 14 North Carolina at No. 4 Duke (ESPN, 9 p.m.).

Previewing all the day’s action and discuss the biggest storylines in college basketball,  the show is hosted by Rece Davis alongside analysts Jay Bilas, Digger Phelps and Jalen Rose.

The eight-week Saturday morning and evening college basketball program visited some of the top college basketball venues and programs this season.


Men’s Hoops: Final Days of Regular Season Wind Down as Championship Week Begins
With Championship Week Presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods on the horizon, the men’s college basketball regular season is coming to a close. (ESPN’s comprehensive Championship Week schedule will be released this week.)
Schedule highlights:

  • No. 15 Cincinnati — looking to claim at least a portion of the American Athletic Conference regular-season title – will face No. 20 Memphis on Thursday, March 6 (ESPN, 7 p.m.) and Rutgers on Saturday, March 8 (ESPNEWS, noon).
  • A top 25 showdown in the Big Ten: No. 22 Iowa at No. 22 Michigan State on Thursday (ESPN, 9 p.m.).
  • No. 8 Kansas will face a tough road trip at West Virginia on Saturday (ESPN, noon).
  • No. 16 Iowa State will host Oklahoma State — coming off an upset of then-No. 5 Kansas — on Saturday (ESPN, 2 p.m.).
  • With identical 12-4 records in the ACC, No. 14 North Carolina visits No. 4 Duke in the Saturday Primetime Presented by DIRECTV game (ESPN, 9 p.m.)

Rachel Margolis Siegal

A part of the Internal Communications team at ESPN, I began with the network in 2010 as part of the College Sports PR team. Always an avid sports fan and not an athlete – I grew up a huge fan of the Hartford Whalers, while also watching my brother compete at different levels. I became the manager of several high school sports teams and continued that hobby into college. While at Quinnipiac, I worked in the Sports Information Department, which led me to a summer internship at the New Haven Ravens, a AA baseball team, and an eventual job with the Athletic Communications Department at the University of Connecticut. After my five-year stint at Connecticut, I spent six years as Director of Communications at the BIG EAST Conference in Providence, R.I. before joining ESPN.
