Longhorn Network to Honor Women’s History Month with an all Women Telecast of Longhorn Extra

In honor of Women’s History Month, the Longhorn Network (LHN) will feature an all women telecast of Longhorn Extra, the network’s daily news and information show. Airing on Thursday, March 6 at 10 p.m. CT, LHN will feature an exclusively all female cast from on-air hosts to content producers. The program’s star-studded guests and content will be entirely dedicated to current and past female Texas athletes. Sanya Richards Ross, a four-time Olympic gold-medal track athlete and Texas alum, will co-host alongside Longhorn Network’s Kaylee Hartung.

Featured Texas female athletes include:

  • Jody Conradt – Head Coach UT Women’s Basketball team from 1976 – 2007
  • Kaitlin Petrillose – 2013 Big 12 Indoor/Outdoor pole vault champion and UT school record-holder indoor/outdoor pole vault
  • Marielle Hall – UT school record-holder for track mile, two-time Big 12 Indoor champion, 2012 USTFCCCA Cross Coutnry All-America, 2012 USTFCCCA South Central Region champion and Athlete of the Year

Guest appearances are anticipated by:

  • Cat Osterman – four-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American, three-time Big 12 Female Athlete of the Year (only athlete from any men’s or women’s sport to earn the honor more than once), four-time Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Year (becoming the first Big 12 student-athlete across all sports to earn a player of the year honor four times)
  • Haley Eckerman – 2012 Volleyball Magazine National Co-Player of the Year, COBRA Magazine National Player of the Year, named 2012 AVCA and Volleyball All-America first team, 2012 NCAA All-Tournament Team and 2012 AVCA All-Central Region honors, 2012 Big 12 Player of the Year (becoming the fourth straight Longhorn to win the honor), 2011 AVCA and Volleyball Magazine National Freshman of the Year, and 2011 Big 12 Freshman of the Year

The leading women behind the scenes are producer Ande Wall, content associates Andrea Cuaron, Brooke Miller, Jessica Maddox and Katie Bridges, editor Anne Sexton, and researcher/graphics producer Andrea McVaney.
