Women’s College Hoops: Big Monday Begins with Connecticut-Baylor Matchup

The Big Monday Presented by Verizon series on ESPN2, in its eighth season, begins January 13 with top-ranked Connecticut visiting No. 8 Baylor at 7 p.m. The weekly series runs through March 3, including doubleheaders on January 27 and February 10. Full Big Monday Schedule

The schedule is also highlighted by a week-long celebration of some of the best and most historic venues in the sport. The “My Home Court” (Twitter #MyHomeCourt) initiative will begin Monday, Jan. 13, and conclude Saturday, Jan. 18.  Vignettes and discussion on the venue will include the history, notable moments, great athletes and coaches who appeared in the arena, a look at the past and present, records made and broken in the facility, best and most unique seats in the building, and notable and passionate team fans who attend games.

Rachel Margolis Siegal

A part of the Internal Communications team at ESPN, I began with the network in 2010 as part of the College Sports PR team. Always an avid sports fan and not an athlete – I grew up a huge fan of the Hartford Whalers, while also watching my brother compete at different levels. I became the manager of several high school sports teams and continued that hobby into college. While at Quinnipiac, I worked in the Sports Information Department, which led me to a summer internship at the New Haven Ravens, a AA baseball team, and an eventual job with the Athletic Communications Department at the University of Connecticut. After my five-year stint at Connecticut, I spent six years as Director of Communications at the BIG EAST Conference in Providence, R.I. before joining ESPN.
