Men’s College Hoops: No. 2 Syracuse Follows Debut of Season’s First College GameDay

This week on ESPN networks, three undefeated teams — No. 1 Arizona, No. 2 Syracuse and No. 13 Iowa State — take to the court, including the Orange at home against new ACC opponent North Carolina Saturday, Jan. 11, at noon on ESPN. Leading into the game, College GameDay Covered by State Farm will air from ESPN’s Bristol, Conn., studios at 10 a.m. on ESPN2 and 11 a.m. on ESPNU. Host Rece Davis, along with familiar GameDay analysts Jay Bilas and Digger Phelps, will be joined in-studio by Jay Williams.

Additional schedule highlights:

  • No. 3 Ohio State visits No. 5 Michigan State on Tuesday at 9 p.m.
  • Memphis appears twice this week: at No. 12 Louisville on Thursday at 7 p.m. (ESPN) and again at Temple on Saturday at 3 p.m. (ESPN2).
  • On Thursday, top-ranked Arizona travels to UCLA at 9 p.m. on ESPN, and No. 20 Iowa hosts Northwestern at 9 p.m. and No. 22 Gonzaga plays at Portland at 11 p.m., both on ESPNU.
  • An in-state rivalry game pits No. 25 Kansas State at No. 18 Kansas on Saturday at 2 p.m. (ESPN / ESPN Radio).
  • Ranked teams in ESPNU’s Saturday lineup include: Undefeated and ninth-ranked Iowa State at Oklahoma at noon and No. 21 Missouri at Auburn at 2 p.m., while on ESPN2, No. 10 Florida visits Arkansas, also at 2 p.m.

Rachel Margolis Siegal

A part of the Internal Communications team at ESPN, I began with the network in 2010 as part of the College Sports PR team. Always an avid sports fan and not an athlete – I grew up a huge fan of the Hartford Whalers, while also watching my brother compete at different levels. I became the manager of several high school sports teams and continued that hobby into college. While at Quinnipiac, I worked in the Sports Information Department, which led me to a summer internship at the New Haven Ravens, a AA baseball team, and an eventual job with the Athletic Communications Department at the University of Connecticut. After my five-year stint at Connecticut, I spent six years as Director of Communications at the BIG EAST Conference in Providence, R.I. before joining ESPN.
