After an investigation using thousands of records obtained through open records laws and with the cooperation of her family, Sunday’s OTL will present the story of former University of Missouri swimmer Sasha Menu Courey and look at the larger issue of college athletes and mental health. Tom Farrey and Nicole Noren report.

“She wrote on the board, ‘To all my friend swimmers, it was nice swimming with you.’ I felt it was a sentence that someone would write if they knew they would never see these people ever again.” — Lynn Courey, Sasha’s mother, on a cryptic message Sasha wrote while giving her parents a tour of the Missouri swim facility

Super Bowl XLVIII will be played at MetLife Stadium, home of the Giants, Jets and bone-chilling northeast winters. Jim Kelly, Bart Starr and Ben Roethlisberger describe what it’s like to play outdoors in the bitter cold and frosty conditions. ESPN.com’s Greg Garber reports.

“When you’re a kid, you loved it because, of course, you had fun and you were sliding. You always wore, like, snow pants and the warmest stuff you can find. Now, it’s not quite as warm — I don’t enjoy it, I’m just used to it.” — Ben Roethlisberger, on playing in cold weather

“I enjoyed going up there, and when we first moved up, I fell in love with the winters. My wife thought I was crazy, and I may have been, but I really enjoyed living there.” – Bart Star, former Packers quarterback, on moving to Green Bay from Alabama

In 2011 former two-time world boxing titlist Paulie Ayala became a champion in another area when he developed a training program to help those suffering from Parkinson’s Disease. The Fort Worth, Texas native trains 50 Parkinson’s patients at his University of Hard Knocks gym in eight weekly sessions — free of charge – emphasizing strength and coordination.

“I prayed to God, you know, ‘Lord, send me fighters’. Real shortly, I realized that I didn’t want just fighters, I wanted champions. I had to be more specific. Then, when I pray about that, lo and behold, it started from there. These people in this program, they’re champions.” – Paulie Ayala

Sunday, at the 25th Annual Producers Guild Awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, the Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced this year’s winning motion picture and television productions.

SportsCenter received the award for “Outstanding Sports Program.”

The Producers Guild Awards “celebrate the finest producing work of the year, and gives the Guild an opportunity to honor some of the living legends who have shaped our profession.”

In addition to its competitive awards, the Producers Guild presented several special honors, including its 2014 “Milestone Award,” which was given to Walt Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger.

Among the nominees SportsCenter was up against in the “The Award for Outstanding Sports Program” category was ESPN’s Monday Night Football. SportsCenter also edged HBO’s 24/7, Hard Knocks and Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel for the award.

“This honor, for our flagship news and information show, is something everyone at ESPN should take tremendous pride in receiving,” said Craig Bengtson, Vice President, SportsCenter. “It is recognition of the fact that SportsCenter not only continues to evolve, but educate, entertain and engage sports fans.
