College Football: ABC Televises Week’s Top Two Games & Wins Saturday Night
ABC televised the two most-viewed college football games of the week Saturday, Nov. 2, led by Saturday Night Football Presented by Windows – Florida State defeating Miami 41-14 – which averaged 8,354,000 viewers and a 5.1 rating. That helped ABC win the night among households, viewers, and all key men and adult demographics. Full Release
College Football: ESPN Thursday Prime Time Showcases No. 3 Oregon at No. 5 Stanford
No. 3 Oregon will visit No. 5 Stanford in Thursday’s ESPN College Football Primetime on November 7, at 9 p.m. ET, in a matchup between the top two teams in the Pac-12 North division. The schedule for Saturday, Nov. 9, will include an ESPN quadrupleheader with at least one ranked team in each game, beginning with one-loss No. 9 Auburn at Tennessee at noon. ESPN will also televise No. 24 Wisconsin against BYU at 3:30 p.m., one-loss Miami (Fla.) against Virginia Tech at 7 p.m. and No. 19 UCLA at Arizona at 10 p.m. Full Release
College GameDay Returns to No. 1 Alabama’s Campus for Eighth Time
ESPN’s iconic college football pregame show, College GameDay Built by The Home Depot, will make its eighth appearance, and first since 2011, on the campus of the University of Alabama on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 9 a.m. on ESPN. The three-hour show will originate from Champions Way in front of Bryant-Denny Stadium. That night, No. 1 Alabama hosts No. 13 LSU.
Hosted by Chris Fowler, the GameDay crew consists of analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack, with reporting by Samantha Ponder, Tom Rinaldi, Scott Van Pelt and Gene Wojciechowski.
Alabama holds a 1-6 record when College GameDay is in town.
Men’s Basketball: Georgetown and Oregon to Meet in Armed Forces Classic from United States Army Garrison Humphreys in South Korea
Georgetown and Oregon will meet in the second installment of the Armed Forces Classic – this year from United States Army Garrison Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, on Friday, Nov. 8, at 8 p.m. ET, on ESPN. Coverage begins with the SportsCenter Special: Armed Forces Classic pregame show at 7:30 p.m. The game is the centerpiece of ESPN’s fifth annual America’s Heroes: A Salute to Our Veterans – a five-day initiative that honors veterans and troops in programming across the company’s U.S. media platforms from Wednesday, Nov. 6 through Sunday, Nov. 10. The 2013-14 men’s college basketball season begins Friday, Nov. 8, with a full slate of games across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3 – highlighted by the second installment of the Armed Forces Classic featuring Georgetown at No. 19 Oregon – this year from United States Army Garrison Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
