College Football: Top Four Teams in BCS Standings on ESPN and ABC
This week’s college football schedule will include telecasts of the top four teams in the BCS Standings and six of the top 10. The lineup is highlighted by No. 4 Stanford, coming off a victory over then-undefeated Oregon, at USC on ABC’s Saturday Night Football Presented by Windows on November 16 at 8 p.m. ESPN Radio will also broadcast the game.
That afternoon, ABC and ESPN2, combine for national telecasts of unbeaten No. 2 Florida State against new ACC foe Syracuse and No. 16 Michigan State at Nebraska on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Additional Saturday highlights: ESPN will televise two of the top three teams, both on the road against conference opponents: No. 3 Ohio State at Illinois at noon and No. 1 Alabama at Mississippi State at 7:45 p.m.
College GameDay Returns to USC for the Fourth Straight Year for Stanford-USC
ESPN’s iconic college football pregame show, College GameDay Built by The Home Depot, will make its 10th appearance from the campus of USC on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 9 a.m. on ESPN. The three-hour show from McCarthy Quad will visit USC for the fourth consecutive year, in advance of No. 4 Stanford vs.USC (ABC / 8 p.m.)
Hosted by Chris Fowler, the GameDay crew consists of analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack, with reporting by Samantha Ponder, Tom Rinaldi, Scott Van Pelt and Gene Wojciechowski.
Corso is 9-0 in his selections at USC, picking USC the first six times GameDay visited campus, but the opponent the last three.
ESPNU All-Access Visits Eastern Illinois Football for the First Time
ESPNU All-Access, airing Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET, will feature the Eastern Illinois football team for the first time. Eastern Illinois is undefeated in Ohio Valley Conference, with their only loss of the season coming from a four-point fall to undefeated Northern Illinois. Wednesday’s show will go inside the offensive & defensive position meetings and have the coaches wired at practice. Also, viewers will see a tour of the facilities & school that produced notable alumni Tony Romo, Mike Shanahan and Sean Peyton.
The half-hour ESPNU All-Access series airs every Wednesday on ESPNU, taking viewers inside top programs around the country and has featured Arkansas, Cincinnati, Oregon and others in previous weeks this season.
ESPNU Road Trip Rolls Through Knoxville, Tenn.
ESPNU Road Trip rolled through Knoxville, Tenn. for the first time over the weekend to see the Volunteers homecoming match-up against the Auburn Tigers. The 30-minute show, airing Wednesday at 11:30 p.m. and Thursday at 4:30 p.m. this week, features the tradition, rivalry and revelry of college campuses that is synonymous with the college football experience.
In Knoxville, hosts Niki Noto and Ali Nejad take tour of head coach Butch Jones’ office and the Anderson Training Center, learn how to kick and punt with the team’s two-way specialist Michael Palardy and practice with the Lady Vols. The duo also takes a ride in the Homecoming parade and joins the tailgate scene with the Vol Navy.
This Week’s College Basketball Highlights:
- The inaugural Big 12/SEC Challenge begins Thursday, Nov. 14 with Texas Tech at Alabama at 9 p.m. on ESPN. It is the first of 10 games that will be played out over six weeks.
- No. 7 Michigan travels to Iowa State for a 5 p.m. ESPN2 matchup on Sunday.
- A rematch of the first-round NIT upset between then-No. 8 seed Robert Morris at No. 1 seed Kentucky will be played Sunday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2 with the Wildcats currently ranked No. 1 in the nation.
- The Regional Round of the 2K Sports Classic on Sunday, Nov. 17 will air on ESPNU: Boston University at No. 19 Connecticut at noon and Florida Atlantic at Boston College at 8 p.m.
- No. 12 North Carolina is featured twice on ESPNU: Thursday vs. Holy Cross at 8 p.m. and Sunday vs. Belmont at 4 p.m.

Women’s College Basketball: No. 1 Connecticut at No. 8 Maryland; Top Players to Visit ESPN
The 2013-14 women’s college basketball season schedule is highlighted by No. 1 Connecticut at No. 8 Maryland on Friday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m. on ESPNU. The game will be called by Pam Ward and Rebecca Lobo.
As part of the women’s college basketball season launch, three top players will visit ESPN’s Bristol, Conn., studios Tuesday, Nov. 12. Connecticut’s Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, Stanford’s Chiney Ogwumike and Louisville’s Shoni Schimmel will be seen across several programs and platforms, including Mike and Mike in the Morning, SportsCenter, espnW.com and more.
Additional games on ESPN3 will be played throughout the weekend, including three matchups on Sunday, Nov. 17.

Recruiting: ESPNU Signing Day Special to Feature Four Top 10 Players Live College Commitments
ESPNU’s Signing Day Special, airing Friday at 4 p.m., will feature four of the nation’s top high school basketball players live college basketball commitments: No. 1 Jahlil Okafor, No. 3 Cliff Alexander, No. 4 Tyus Jones and No. 9 Stanley Johnson.
Okafor (Whitney Young High School, Ill.) and Jones (Apple Valley High School, Minn.), who have previously announced they plan to play together, will make their announcement simultaneously and have narrowed their choices to Duke and Kansas. Alexander (Curie High School, Ill.) is deciding between DePaul, Illinois, Kansas and Memphis. Johnson (Mater Dei High School, Calif.) will commit to either Arizona, Kentucky or USC.
The one-hour special hosted by Matt Schick will include analysis from Jay Williams, Jeff Goodman and recruiting director Paul Biancardi as they discuss the impact top recruits will have on next year’s college basketball season.
