49ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick, Vikings Running Back Adrian Peterson Honored

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson were among the top honorees at last night’s 2013 ESPYS Awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Kaepernick won for Best Breakthrough Athlete. Peterson was presented with the ESPY for Best Comeback, and he was named Best NFL Player in the individual sports category.

In addition to the winners, other NFL players presented awards, including New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz, Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl champions Joe Flacco and Ray Lewis, Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano and Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt were among other NFL attendees.
