
ESPN will provide live coverage of Alex Rodriguez’s first rehab assignment with the Charleston RiverDogs – the New York Yankees’ Single-A affiliate – on SportsCenter tonight, beginning at 6 p.m. ET (weather permitting). Coverage will begin with pre-game reports, including fielding and batting practice, and continue with live cut-ins to Rodriguez’s at-bats. The RiverDogs will host the Rome Braves, beginning at 7 p.m.
Rodriguez – who is attempting to return to action after offseason hip surgery – is scheduled to have two at-bats tonight and play third base for at least three innings. Baseball Tonight commentators Karl Ravech, Curt Schilling and Aaron Boone will provide studio analysis and ESPN MLB Insider Pedro Gomez will be reporting live from Charleston.
