WNBA: Phoenix Mercury with Taurasi and Griner Face 2012 Champion Indiana Fever Saturday on ABC

Top draft pick Britney Griner, former WNBA MVP Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury will visit the reigning WNBA champion Indiana Fever and former MVP Tamika Catchings on Saturday, June 8, at 3:30 p.m., the one regular-season game of ESPN’s 14-game schedule on ABC.

Debuting during the game will be a mini-camera worn by referees – providing a unique angle from the ref’s point-of-view.  Ryan Ruocco will call the game, along with analyst Rebecca Lobo and reporter Holly Rowe. John Saunders and Sue Bird will be in studio.

ABC will also televise the Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star Game, which returns after a one-year hiatus on Saturday, July 27, at 3:30 p.m. from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.  Downloadable Photos | Season Schedule

A part of the Internal Communications team at ESPN, I began with the network in 2010 as part of the College Sports PR team. Always an avid sports fan and not an athlete – I grew up a huge fan of the Hartford Whalers, while also watching my brother compete at different levels. I became the manager of several high school sports teams and continued that hobby into college. While at Quinnipiac, I worked in the Sports Information Department, which led me to a summer internship at the New Haven Ravens, a AA baseball team, and an eventual job with the Athletic Communications Department at the University of Connecticut. After my five-year stint at Connecticut, I spent six years as Director of Communications at the BIG EAST Conference in Providence, R.I. before joining ESPN.
