ESPN Deportes brings Brazil’s Jungle Fight 50 to U.S. viewers Saturday, April 6 at 8:30 p.m. ET LIVE from the Military Brigade Gymnasium in Porto Alegre. The 50th edition of Jungle Fight will feature seven bouts by MMA’s most promising young talent, highlighted by the “Bodas de Ouro” pitting Robson New against Wagner Noronha.

“We are proud to be part of this commemorative edition and the exclusive broadcaster of Jungle Fight 50,” said Lino Garcia, general manager of ESPN Deportes. “Jungle Fight is one of the most well-known MMA organizations and its popularity only continues to grow. With that in mind, we aim to provide the most relevant and exciting content to our audience.”

Founded in 2002 by long-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and MMA fighter Wallid Ismail, Jungle Fight is the fastest growing MMA organization, offering the most promising opportunities for aspiring mixed martial artists. The fights are a riveting hybrid blur of MMA and kickboxing, with Brazilian jiu-jitsu breaking through each spar, and feature many weight classes to reflect the different body types that accompany fighting styles.

The Brazilian promotion features some of the country’s best fighters. Renowned names, such as Erick Silva and Luri “Marajo” Alcantara, began their careers by winning Jungle Fight tournaments. Others on the plaque include UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo, former UFC light-heavyweight king Lyoto Machida and former Strikeforce middleweight number one Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.

“With the half-century mark approaching, number 50 is very important because it represents longevity and success of the event,” Ismail said.  “It is a brand that deserves special mention, and will have an event to match. You can be sure it will be a great show”.

Jungle Fight 50 will have a card filled with great fights. Itamar Rosa will make his debut in the welterweight category against Douglas Del Rio who comes from knockout victory. The international duel of the evening will feature Mexican Jonathan Uziel Martinez Vale and Argentine Fabricio Arevalo. After winning five consecutive wins, Renato “Moicano” returns to the Jungle arena against Mauro Chaulet, while Dimitry Zebroski hopes to make a comeback against Tiago “Trator.” Completing the list of confirmed clashes, Gabriel Silva and Vinícius Baraldo, and Yuri Maia and Leandro Frois will meet as the competition’s debutants.
