ESPN and ESPN3 to Present Record Number of Live Coverage from X Games Tignes 2013
ABC to Broadcast X Games Tignes for the First Time
The first international X Games event of 2013, X Games Tignes, kicks off March 20 with a record number of live programming hours on ESPN and ESPN3. For three days, ESPN and ESPN3 will combine to present 21 hours live from France. ESPN will also air a nightly highlights show each night of the competition and a four-hour anthology show Saturday, March 23, on ABC and on Sunday, March 24, on ESPN. This marks the first time ABC will broadcast action from X Games Tignes, now in its fourth year. ESPN has again collaborated with CANAL + Networks (CANAL +, CANAL + SPORT, Sport +) to show X Games Tignes in France and French-speaking territories (Caribbean, French-speaking Africa) live or on delay.
In addition to all of the content on ESPN’s U.S.-based media platforms, X Games Tignes will be televised in 184 countries and territories to more than 430 million homes, including coverage in Africa, Brazil, Canada, Central America, Europe, Middle East and South America. All 21 hours of the event will also be simulcast on ESPN’s international broadband platforms to 40 countries across Australia, Europe and Latin America.
ESPN will produce 10 one-hour syndication shows for international networks to air following the event.
