Newcastle hopes midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa’s return to the side after being out nearly three weeks with an injury will prove to be a catalyst for a win. Though only playing 70 minutes against Fulham in his first match back last weekend, Ben Arfa scored the only goal in the Magpies’ 2-1 loss at Craven Cottage.

The Nets are still without leading scorer Brook Lopez, who is recovering from a foot injury, but the center could return for the team in time for Wednesday’s tilt. The Knicks lead the Eastern Conference (as of Dec. 12) and have been getting steady contributions from Anthony (27.9 ppg), Raymond Felton (6.8 apg) and Tyson Chandler (9.6 rpg).

The Tennessee Titans host their AFC foes the New York Jets on Monday Night Football. Since the organization moved to Tennessee in 1997, the Titans are 9-5 on MNF and have won the last three games. Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, who has faced scrutiny this season, could be playing to keep his starting role, but will have the added benefit of newly re-acquired receiver Braylon Edwards in the lineup.

The league’s champion advances to the Caribbean Series to play against the representatives from Mexico, Venezuela and Puerto Rico.
