The Hammers have impressed this year, having been promoted from The Championship at the end of last season and played their way to the top-half of the Premier League standings. Chelsea, with new manager Rafa Benitez, hope to put their recent struggles behind them with a road win.

Match Day 6 features a Group A match between English side Liverpool and Italian club Udinese, which Liverpool must win in order to have a more comfortable lead over Young Boys.  The two teams each have seven points in group play, however Liverpool has the advantage in goal differential with one goal to Young Boys’ -1.

In the second match of the day, Inter looks to shake off a disappointing 3-0 loss against Group H leader Rubin Kazan and make up some ground with a win over Azerbaijani club Neftchi.

Two of the top teams in the Brazilian first division look to separate themselves from the pack with a win.  São Paulo – currently fourth in the table – maintains a four-point margin over Corinthians (fifth), and is only six points behind the third position. But with stalemates in its last two matches, São Paulo will have to lean heavily on the goal scoring prowess of Luis Fabiano, the second-leading scorer in the Brasileirao.

Recently hired head coach Mike D’Antoni and Kobe Bryant lead the Lakers against one of the top teams in the Western Conference.  Oklahoma City, with a 7-2 record at home (as of Nov. 28), will be a tough road opponent for Los Angeles, but All-Star point guard Steve Nash could return for the Lakers and provide a much-needed push. The Thunder, meanwhile, remain steady behind the backcourt tandem of Kevin Durant (25.9 ppg) and Russell Westbrook (8.6 apg).

Eli Manning and the defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants will face Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football. With a win, the Giants would sweep the Redskins for the fourth time in the last five seasons. Under head coach Tom Coughlin, they are 7-3 on MNF. The first meeting between the NFC East rivals produced one of the most thrilling finishes of the season so far as Manning threw a 77-yard touchdown pass to Victor Cruz with 1:13 to play in a 27-23 comeback win.
