Barclays Premier League
Everton vs. Liverpool
Sunday, Oct. 28, 9:25 a.m.

One of the Premier League’s most storied derbies kicks off at Everton’s home grounds of Goodison Park on Sunday. American keeper Tim Howard anchors a stingy Toffees defense that is among the top in the league in goals conceded (nine in eight games), while Liverpool has struggled to find the back of the net, ending up scoreless in three of eight games this season. Despite the Reds’ early offensive malaise, forward Luis Suárez is in mid-season form, already netting five goals and two assists.

Major League Soccer
Los Angeles Galaxy vs. Seattle Sounders
Sunday, Oct. 28, 9 p.m.

Irish international Robbie Keane has been the Galaxy’s biggest offensive threat this season, averaging 0.59 goals per game and carries a streak of five goals in as many matches.  The Sounders, second in the Western Conference, bring their dynamic duo of Eddie Johnson and Fredy Montero to the Home Depot Center. Only four points separate Seattle from conference-leading San Jose.  Though the Sounders’ playoff seeding will be partially determined by the Earthquakes’ result in their last regular-season match on Saturday, the Sounders will look to confirm its own destiny with a victory.
