Andy Reid’s Reign at Risk
Outside the Lines
(Sunday, 10 a.m., ESPN2)

Armed with star power but off to a 2-4 start, the Philadelphia Eagles are falling short of expectations and taking a lot of heat. Much of the criticism is aimed at Andy Reid, the longest tenured head coach in the NFL. Despite his successes with the Eagles, a Super Bowl title has eluded Reid, leaving Philadelphia fans on edge even with a victory last week. And, now, at least one player is hinting at an internal power struggle involving his coach and team owners. So will this be the season to end Reid’s reign?  John Barr reports.

Discussing the piece will be ESPN.com’s Ashley Fox , who covered the Eagles for more than a decade for the Philadelphia Inquirer, ESPN.com NFC East blogger Dan Graziano, and former Eagle Hugh Douglas, now an ESPN NFL analyst.

Tapping Out
Sunday NFL Countdown
(Sunday, 10 a.m., ESPN)

During an NFL game, players are often faced with a decision: stay in the game and fight through physical pain and exhaustion or “tap out” – tap their helmets — and take a breather. But, players often find that the mental battle between playing or saying “no mas” is often worse than the physical wear-and-tear they’re experiencing on the field. Former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell makes a special appearance to host this feature from the octagon.

“The universal sign is (for) a guy who’s winded — he looks to the sidelines and he looks back like, ‘Look, somebody better come from over there,’ they better be sending another green jersey over here real quick. “ – Greg Jennings, Green Bay Packers WR

“Defensive guys are more prone to take a breather, but some guys can’t. Like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, those guys aren’t allowed to tap (out) by any means.” – Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens LB

“Think about it, the great players, they’re not on the bench when great moments are happening, they’re in the game.” – Terrell Davis, former Denver Broncos RB
