X Games 17 – Women’s Moto X Racing Final
A Moto X Gold Medal For Golden
Golden Sets The Pace For X Games Win
The win was Vicki Golden’s for the taking Saturday as she led the field through the entire Moto X Racing Women’s Final to earn herself her first X Games gold medal.
“The start was super tricky but I was able to get a good start. The track suited my style because I have an arena cross track back home,” Golden said. “I just had my birthday Thursday and this is the best birthday present I’ve ever had.”
Golden finished just off the podium in forth at X Games 16, her first X Games appearance, making her win even sweeter.
Aguadilla, Puerto Rico’s Tarah Gieger, who was the X Games 14 gold medalist in the sport, made it back-to-back silver medals for herself, finishing behind Golden for the second-place-spot.
“I was pushing toward the front the entire time, but I hope to be back on the top step of the podium next year,” Gieger said.
And making her inaugural X Games competitive appearance, France’s Livia Lancelot kept the pace to nab the X Games Bronze.
