Women’s British Open, U.S. Senior Open Golf Action Live on ESPN Platforms

ESPN networks and multimedia platforms will air live action from two major golf tournaments from different sides of the Atlantic on July 28-31 with coverage of the Ricoh Women’s British Open and the U.S. Senior Open Championship.

The Ricoh Women’s British Open, featuring the world’s best in women’s golf, will have 12 scheduled hours of live coverage from Carnoustie Golf Links in Carnoustie, Angus, Scotland. The venue, which has been the Open Championship site seven times, is hosting its first Women’s British Open. Yani Tseng is the event’s defending champion.

ESPN will air three hours of live coverage from each of the four rounds of the tournament, with live golf airing from 9 a.m. until noon ET on both Thursday and Friday, July 28-29. Third-round play on Saturday, July 30, will air from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., with final-round coverage on Sunday, July 31, airing from 9 a.m. – noon. A one-hour final round highlights program will air on ABC at 4 p.m. on Sunday and all live telecasts will be simulcast on ESPN3.com and ESPN Mobile TV.

ESPN3.com will have five hours of bonus coverage of the event, including both Thursday and Friday from 6 a.m. – 7:30 a.m., Saturday from 9-10 a.m. and Sunday from 8-9 a.m.

In the United States, the U.S. Senior Open Championship will be at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, and ESPN2 and ESPN3.com will have four hours of live coverage from each of the first two rounds of the event on Thursday and Friday, July 28-29. Action airs from 3-7 p.m. each day and will feature the world’s top senior golfers, including defending champion Bernhard Langer.

All live programming from both tournaments on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN3.com will also be available on computers, smartphones and tablets through ESPNnetworks.com and the free WatchESPN app, which are accessible to fans who receive their video service from an affiliated provider.

Terry Gannon will anchor ESPN’s coverage of the Women’s British Open, joined for analysis by World Golf Hall of Famer Judy Rankin. Former professional golfers Bill Kratzert and Jane Crafter will be on-course reporters.

Sean McDonough will anchor the U.S. Senior Open telecasts with two-time U.S. Open champions Andy North and Curtis Strange.
