Tennis’ US Open Series Begins This Week in Atlanta on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com

Tennis’ Olympus US Open Series begins this week with the ATP Atlanta Tennis Championships and continues with men’s and women’s play the following five weeks, totaling more than 90 hours of action on ESPN2. The US Open Series – 10 hard court events, including one dual event with both the ATP and WTA’s top players, across North America – lead to the US Open in New York. Coverage from Atlanta will begin Friday, July 22, with live telecasts at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET, with a semifinal Saturday, July 23, at 1 p.m., and the final Sunday, July 24, at 3 p.m. Cliff Drysdale will host the telecasts with Darren Cahill and Brad Gilbert.

In subsequent weeks, the men will travel to Los Angeles; Washington, D.C.; Montreal; Cincinnati and to a new event, the Winston-Salem Open, while the women play in Stanford, Calif.; Carlsbad, Calif.; Toronto; Cincinnati and New Haven, Conn. Along the way, Chris Fowler, Mary Joe Fernandez, Patrick McEnroe and Pam Shriver will be part of the ESPN team.  In addition, ESPN3.com will simulcast the ESPN2 matches, plus other live action including extensive offerings from Montreal and Cincinnati. ESPN2’s 100 hours from the US Open, the final Grand Slam event of the year, will begin Monday, August 29.
