ESPNU Doubles NCAA Men’s Soccer Coverage; Expands Women’s Matches

ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network, will double its men’s soccer coverage and showcase the strongest women’s line-up in the network’s six-year history during the 2011 NCAA season. In addition to four more regular season games on its six-week schedule, the network will televise both the men’s and women’s ACC championship matches for the first time.

A total of 10 women’s – up from eight in 2010 – and four men’s regular season games will be televised throughout the fall. Of the featured women’s games, 11 teams rank in the top 25 of the NSCAA 2010 post-season poll and all four men’s games feature ranked teams. The women’s action begins Sunday, Sept. 25, at 3 p.m. ET between No. 9 Virginia at No. 6 North Carolina, while the men get going Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 5 p.m. with Lafayette at No.24 Princeton.

ESPNU’s soccer coverage will feature a total of four SEC, two Big 12, two ACC, two Big East and two West Coast Conference matches a piece in the regular season.
