ESPN Deportes Radio Expands to Bay Area

Network launches on KTRB 860 AM to deliver great sports programming to the Bay Area’s Hispanic community; ESPN Deportes Radio now available in eight of the top ten markets

ESPN, Inc. announced that ESPN Deportes Radio, the only around-the-clock national Spanish-language sports radio network in the U.S., will launch KTRB 860 AM in San Francisco, CA. Under the operation of Deportes Media LLC., the station will go live on Friday, June 24. 

“The Hispanic sports fans in San Francisco are passionate about sports and we are excited to bring them the best of sports radio,” said Oscar Ramos, senior director and general manager of ESPN Deportes Radio. “We are proud to extend ESPN Deportes Radio to the Spanish-speaking sports fans in the Bay Area. KTRB 860 AM holds one of the strongest signals in the Bay Area covering the entire area including San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose as well as Sacramento, Stockton and Modesto.

In 2005, ESPN Deportes opened its doors in Coral Gables as the hub of ESPN Deportes Radio studios.  Since that time, the network has continued to grow across the nation, achieving milestones in the Spanish-language radio industry.  With the addition of KTRB 860 AM, ESPN Deportes Radio is now available in eight of the top U.S. Hispanic markets, reaching over 62% of the U.S. Hispanic population with a total of 42 affiliates nationwide. 

ESPN Deportes Radio offers a variety of sports talk programming and events, including national Spanish-language radio broadcasts of Spain’s La Liga, Copa America 2011, Mexican League Soccer; Major League Soccer (MLS), Copa Libertadores, UEFA Euro 2012, Raza Deportiva, ESPN Al Despertar, and Jorge Ramos y Su Banda.
