In spring 2024, Jake Trotter was named a senior writer covering college football and college sports for ESPN.com, appearing on SportsCenter and ESPN Radio programs in addition to his reporting across ESPN digital platforms.

Trotter has been with ESPN since 2011, previously covering college football and then the Cleveland Browns as ESPN’s NFL Nation reporter. Before joining ESPN, he worked at The Oklahoman, Austin American-Statesman and Middletown (Ohio) Journal newspapers.

He is a member of the Football Writers Association of America and Pro Football Writers of America.

A native of Oklahoma City, Trotter graduated from Washington and Lee (Va.) University with a degree in print journalism. He is based in Cleveland, Ohio.
