Andreas Hale is a combat sports reporter for ESPN, covering boxing, mixed martial arts, and professional wrestling. He joined the company in 2024 and contributes to breaking news, longform features, and one-on-one interviews across ESPN platforms.

Hale brings more than 20 years of experience as a journalist, editor, and on-air talent. Before joining ESPN, he served as a senior writer and multimedia host for The Sporting News and DAZN, with previous work appearing in outlets such as BoxingScene, Sherdog, and The Ring. He also appears regularly as a host on Sirius XM.

Before covering combat sports full time, Hale served as editor-in-chief of HipHopDX, executive editor of music at BET, and senior writer and YouTube producer for Jay-Z’s Life+Times. He has contributed to Billboard, MTV, and The Grammys, and has produced documentaries featuring Kendrick Lamar, Gennadiy Golovkin, Manny Pacquiao, Timothy Bradley, and Paul George. He also wrote and directed Be Like Ali, a DAZN short film, and co-created the animated short Bridges, which earned an NAACP Image Award nomination.

A Las Vegas native, Hale is a member of the Boxing Writers Association of America and the National Association of Black Journalists.
